Bangkok

In original native culture of Thailand, when males reach the age 18 they participate in a ceremony as follows:

They stand naked in a large circle, facing inward. A beautiful naked girl does a sexy dance in the center of the circle. Behind each male is a beautiful naked girl. As soon as all the males are excited and have erections, the girls behind them reach through between their legs, pull their erect penises downward and then release them. Their penises spring Back up and go "WHAP!" against their bellies. A measurement of strength of masculinity. And that's why the capital of Thailand is called Bangkok.

.... you learn something new everyday

Water vs Alcohol

Check this out ... it's really interesting

It has been scientifically proven that if we drink one litre of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than one kilo of Escherichia Coli Bacteria found in water that contains faeces. In other words, we are consuming one kilo of sh!t. However, we do not run that risk when drinking rum, gin, whiskey, beer, wine or other liquors because alcohol has to go through a distillation process of boiling, filtering and fermentation.

It is my duty to communicate to all of you people who are drinking water, to stop doing so. It has been scientifically proven that it is unhealthy and bad for you. THEREFORE - It is better to drink alcohol and talk shit than to drink water and be full of it!!

23rd March 2006

Ah well lots of things happened lately, I saw several DVDs, 'Duplex' (really funny movie), the Count of Monte Cristo, The River King and the Machinist. I also received 2 new books from abroad, 'Holy Blood, Holy Grail' and 'Breaking the Da Vinci Code', however before I will begin those two books I am rereading the book 'The Da Vinci Code'. Although I've already read it, I decided to begin reading it again so I can understand those 2 books better.

Also, yesterday I apparently brought luck to a collegue of mine and he won the super 5 of 4 numbers, well when am I going to bring luck to myself and win the jackpot??? bah I'm reallyyy broke.

On a positive note, weekend is almost here :):):)

Avoiding speeding tickets

Here's a trick you can try if caught speeding

A young woman was pulled over in Austin,Texas for speeding. As the TX State Trooper walked to her car window, flipping open his ticket book, she said, "I bet you are going to sell me aticket to the Texas State Police Ball." He replied, "Texas State Troopersdon't have balls." There was a moment of silence while she smiled and herealized what he'd just said. He then closed his book, got back in hispatrol car and left. She was laughing too hard to start her car.

Deception Point

Well today I finished reading, "Deception Point" by Dan Brown. It's a really good thriller. In the first part of the story I got a bit bored, however as the story went along I felt like I couldn't stopped reading because I wanted to know more.

Here is the story outline:-

When a new NASA satellite detects evidence of an astonishingly rare object buried deep in the Arctic ice, the floundering space agency proclaims a much-needed victory ... a victory that has profound implications for U.S. space policy, the NASA itself as it was being under attack by a USA senator and the impending presidential election that was going to be held in the upcoming months.

With the Oval Office in the balance, the President dispatches White House Intelligence analyst Rachel Sexton to the Arctic to verify the authenticity of the find. Accompanied by a team of experts, including the charismatic academic Michael tolland, Rachel uncovers the unthinkable - evidence of scientific trickery - a bold deception that threatens to plunge the world into controversy.

But before Rachel can make her findings known, she realises, perhaps too late, that such knowledge puts her and Tolland in deadly jeopardy. Fleeing for their lives in an environment as desolate as it is lethal, they possess only one hope for survival: to find out who is behing this masterful ploy. The truth, they will learn, is the most shocking deception of all ...

I must say this film has everything because while it is a thriller, you have some funny moments, you encounter family problems and wars, you see a romance begin and also hostilities between colleagues together with a big deception from the most person you perhaps trust with your life.

While this is my least favourite book of Dan Brown so far, I wouldn't hesitate twice before reading it again.

Closer

So, it's the end of the weekend. It was quite a good weekend and relax :). Today I watched the film closer and I quite liked it although I cannot say it's one of the best ever made. I always liked Julia Roberts and Clive Owen, Jude Law was good in it and I discovered Natalie Portman.

Set in London, England, good Samaritan Dan Wolf (Jude Law), a struggling writer, takes Alice Ayres (Natalie Portman), a shady young woman and part-time stripper, to the hospital when she's hit by a car, and they fall in love. One year later, Dan meets photographer Anna Cameron (Julie Roberts) and tries to pick her up, but she rebuffs him. In revenge, Dan sets Anna up for an embarrassing encounter with sex-addicted dermatologist Larry Bagley (Clive Owen), but the two end up seeing each other. Then another year later, Dan and Anna begin an affair of their own, and relationships between the four collapse. Over the next year, all of them become obsessed with hurting each other and wreak some heavy emotional damage.

All in all, I would suggest this film because it got quite a story of love and deceiving.

The Magdalene Sisters

It's' a truly amazing and dramatic movie. Here is the plot line:-

Four women are given into the custody of the Madgalene sisterhood asylum to correct their more or less sinful behavior: Crispina and Rose have given birth to a premarital child, Margaret got raped by her cousin and the orphan Bernadette had been repeatedly caught flirting with the boys. All have to work in a laundry under the strict supervision of the nuns, who break their wills through sadistic punishments. Some of the inmates develop countermeasures, while others perish under the treatment.

Here is also some information I liked while browsing the web regarding this film:-

The film
It was initially made because the story of the Magdalene women was unfinished. They hadn't received any recognition, they hadn't received any compensation, and they hadn't been given an apology. And they remained devout Catholics. [Only one of the three principal characters of the film is said to have done so. Though nothing is said about the others in this respect, at least two of the four subjects of the documentary "Sex in a Cold Climate," which inspired the film, left the church, towards which they express undisguised hostility.] So initially, it was as a means to get their story in the public domain.

The film focuses on the girls’ perspective of what happened to them during the time they spent in a Magdalene laundry. The plot follows three young women Margaret, Rose and Bernadette from the first scenes of the film where they are shown committing the so called crimes for which they were put into the laundries through to their arrival at the laundry, their experiences there and the different ways in which they eventually leave the laundry. After arriving at the laundry, the story of another girl Crispina joins the stories of the other three. The film depicts the abuse inflicted on them by the nuns and the priest. Similarities between the film and reality, the work women were expected to do, society’s attitudes costumes, and language.

Differences between the film and reality
1. Names changed incorrectly.
2. The brutality and abuse of the nuns towards the girls in reality was a lot worse than what was depicted in the film.
3. The main characters in the film were not based on true people however their stories and experiences were based on victims accounts.
4. The film was made in Scotland and not actually in Ireland.
5. In reality the girls would not have talked to each other at all even at night whereas in the film, although seldom during the day, the girls did have conversations.

If you have seen this film you can post and messages regarding it

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Count every " F" in the following text:

FINISHED FILES ARE THE RE
SULT OF YEARS OF SCIENTI
FIC STUDY COMBINED WITH
THE EXPERIENCE OF YEARS...

(SEE BELOW)

HOW MANY ?

...................... 3?

WRONG, THERE ARE 6 -- NO JOKE

READ IT AGAIN !

Really, go Back and Try to find the 6 F's before you scroll down.

The reasoning behind is further down.

The brain cannot process "OF".

Incredible or what? Go back and look again!!

Anyone who counts all 6 "F's" on the first go is a genius. Three is normal, four is quite rare.
