What are you afraid of?

Today I found an article on phobias, which was very interesting. I decided to check out what my 2 phobias are called.

I couldn't find what the phobia of Lizards is called, however the phobia of reptiles (since I am afraid of almost everyone of them) is Herpetophobia. My other phobia that of onions is Alliumphobia. Alliumphobia - the abnormal fear of garlic that may extend to a variety of plants characterized by their pungent odor including onions, leeks, chives, and shallots. Allium is the onion.

Also I found that these are some of people's fears: Clinophobia which is the fear of going to bed, Numerophobia is the fear of numbers and the fear of Iconophobia which is the fear of pictures/icons.

What is your fear?? Find it out here ...

Loredana, your strongest sense is Right and Wrong

Doing things by the book. That's your style. Not one to rock the boat, you know that there is a time and a place for everything like how much to tip a server or when to keep your opinions to yourself. It's that keen awareness of right and wrong that helps you make a decision quickly and efficiently so you can move on to the next issue of the day.

Friends probably admire your ability to think on your feet and have confidence in your choices. And that's what makes you a good leader. So keep moving smoothly down the road of life. You're sure to go places!

Nintendo Wii

This website was discovered during the weekend and it has got some quite interesting and funny posts. If you've got a Nintendo Wii or you know someone who does, kindly inform them re this problem, cause it can get quite costly / dangerous.

http://www.wiihaveaproblem.com/

This console though seems pretty amazing and fun. Also a good training to keep fit and healthy!

I'm Back

I am also back on blogging. After the domain I had my blog on was expired and my BF and me decided not to continue renewing it, I wrote some stuff on my Live Spaces Account because I missed writing on the blog. I will arrange this blog to make it more Christmassy in Appearance.

Today I am on leave. This morning I went to buy the 3rd Christmas Present for Darryn and now I will continue to spend the rest of the day with playing Subeta and then I will watch the 3rd & 4th series of 'Allo 'Allo!. Tomorrow I am also on leave, and I've got a busy day ahead of me. In the morning I have to go to the hairdresser and in the evening I am going out.

On a negative note. When I bought my Epson All-In-One printer/scanner/photocopier some months ago from Scan Computers in Iklin, they promised me that they will have the compatible ink cartridges and the warranty will stay on the printer even if they are not the original ink since they are very good. For all the 4 cartridges it used to cost around Lm10. Now today when I went to buy the cartridges they told me that they are not selling the compatible cartridges again as they where causing problems to the printer. One of the sales people told me to contact another shop as he was the agent and I still could buy it from that shop. When I came home, I decided to phone this shop. Without telling them what shop told me to call them to ask them about the cartridges he told me, "Jaqaw Scan qallek biex ticcekja maghha? Scan huma l-agenti tal-'Printworks' cartridges u ahna konna nixtruhom minghandom" (Scan told you to check with us? They are the 'Printworks' cartridges agent and we used to buy from them).

Nice service Scan Computers are having lately. Now the original cartridges will cost me around Lm38. When I choose to buy an All-In-One model of Epson I choose this on because besides the price and it's functions it had a good price also with the inks. I have been a good client of Scan for quite some years now (over 5 years) but I am very sorry to say to their service and products are getting worse and crappier by the day. All of the products I bought for this particular computer around 2 years ago, have started with problems from the very beginning months, and I will surely avoid them in future, even if I will have to pay more for a product which from them is cheaper,.

Until my next post, cya my friends

21st July 2006

Quite a lot has happened since I last posted here. My BF and me went to a memorable concert, Roger Waters, for more info visit here!.

July was also quite nice, with BBQ and enjoyables evenings with friends, it's the nicest thing of Summer :).

I am really looking forward for August, for a nice long holiday break in Gozo and also for the 4th August 2006 ;).

Now, back to the present ... Today I was off and had a super relaxed day with gym in the morning and pink floyd and TV in the afternoon. I also washed lori jnr :D and she is now super clean at last.

That's all for now, if I remember something new I'll try to write again here, cause as you might have noticed, I'm getting quite lazy in writing here, the reason apart from laziness is that internet got quite boring so therefore I'm rarely here :). Any one that wants to leave comments or just to say Hello is quite welcome

Have a nice weekend and be good

love xxxxxx

Sorry, but you're not really my type.
Good evening officer, isn't it lovely out tonight?
Oh, I just couldn't. No one wants to hear me sing.

Mental Heuristics

A heuristic is a "rule-of-thumb", advice that helps an AI program or human think and act more efficiently by directing thinking in an useful direction.

Some of these heuristics are age-old wisdom, bordering on cliche, but most are actually helpful.

If you want something done, do it yourself
Comment: Obviously true, and doing it is usually very good for your self esteem. A surprising amount of work can be done this way, and experts are not always necessary. However, there is a risk of becoming overworked if you try to do everything yourself - we all need other people after all.

Never procrastinate anything you can do right now
Comment: Very powerful. There are many things that can be fixed or solved with a minimum of effort, but are often pushed aside as unimportant. Unfortunately they won't go away, and in time the feelings of guilt for not having done them will make you even less likely of fixing the problems.

When you have several things you could be doing and don't know which to do: Just do any one of them!
Comments: If you cannot decide between two or more possibilities, then there is a good chance that the differences don't matter. However, most people begin to hesitate in this kind of situation (Fredkin's paradox). If you are conscious of this, you can just choose one choice randomly or according to some standard method.

Always assume that you will succeed
Comments: If you don't expect to succeed in an endeavor, then you will not do your best and will not notice possible solutions, while if you feel that you will eventually succeed you will concentrate all your power at the problem. Of course, there is no point in attempting what you cannot do, a certain amount of self-knowledge is always needed.

If you can't find a solution, change the rules.
Comment: Remember that there are no no-win scenarios.

If you cannot do anything about something, there is no point in worrying about it.
Comment: Worrying is stressful, and in most situations doesn't accomplish anything - it just wastes energy. Instead of worrying about things, either do something about them or find ways around the problem. One useful idea is to write down your worries on slips of paper, and then put them away in a box. Regularly, once a week or so, you open the box and see what you can do about the worries that are still relevant.

Do not rely on conscious decisions for speed - Just Do It
Comments: The conscious mind is surprisingly slow, conscious choices and actions are delayed for a significant time (a reflex acts within some tens of milliseconds, an unconscious reaction to external stimuli circa 100 milliseconds and a conscious choice several seconds). The duty of the conscious mind is usually to inhibit rather than start action, and if you become too conscious of what you are doing in a tense situation you will hesitate or slow down.

It is a good idea to learn to rely on your non-conscious mind, since our conscious mind is slow and has very low bandwidth while the other systems in our brains have a tremendous capacity and actually do most of the real work anyway.

Don't try to explain away your actions for yourself
Comment: While we often do things we do not want to explain our real motivations for before other people (out of fear of embarrassment, anger or loss of image), it is a bad idea to try to convince oneself that the motivation was anything different from what it was. It will only reduce your self-knowledge with deliberate misinformation, and it is often valuable to understand what motivations you have (even if you dislike them or would never admit them in public).

Listen to your intuition, but do not believe it unconditionally
Comments: Intuitive or emotional thinking, analogies, "gut feelings" or "flashes of inspiration" can sometimes give fantastic new insights or show problems from a new direction. Unfortunately such thinking isn't always reliable, and quite often completely wrong! Such insights should never be accepted because you admire their beauty or they are intuitive, only because they fit with reality.

Should kids witness a birth?

A true story:
It was late at night and Heidi, who was expecting her second child as home alone with her 3-year old daughter Katelyn. When Heidi started going into labor, she called "911."

Due to a power outage at the time, only one paramedic responded to the call. The house was very dark, so the paramedic asked Katelyn to hold a flashlight high over her mummy so he could see while he helped deliver the baby. Very diligently, Katelyn did as she was asked. Heidi pushed and pushed, and after a little while Connor was born. The paramedic lifted him by his little feet and spanked him on his bottom. Connor began to cry.

The paramedic then thanked Katelyn for her help and asked the wide-eyed 3-year old what she thought about what she had just witnessed. Katelyn quickly responded, "He shouldn't have crawled in there in the first place.Smack him again!"

Build Your Memory

You already have an excellent memory. You just don't know how to use it!

Many people claim that they possess a poor memory. Indeed you may even be one of those people yourself. Well whether you are or not, the simple fact of the matter is that the vast majority of the population have perfectly good memories. The problem is that they just don’t know how to use them properly

What I have attempted to accomplish with this site, is to outline in simple terms, a variety of techniques, that with a bit of practice and just a little time, will allow the reader to express the full potential of their latent memory capabilities. Techniques I might add, that have been around in one form or another for quite a number of centuries. But that until relatively recent times had only been used extensively by a select number of magicians and showman.

I myself firmly believe that the memory improvement systems that are outlined in my site, are surprisingly straight-forward, and should not take you more than a relatively short period of time to fully master.

Crazy Facts

The human heart creates enough pressure when it pumps out to the body to squirt blood 30 feet.
(O.M.G.!)

A pig's orgasm lasts 30 minutes.

(My next life, I want to be a pig)

A cockroach will live nine days without its head before it starves to
death. (Creepy.)

(I'm still not over the pig.)

Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories a hour.

(Don't try this at home, maybe at work)

The male praying mantis cannot copulate while its head is attached to
its body. The female initiates sex by ripping the male's head off.

("Honey, I'm home. What the....?!")

The flea can jump 350 times its body length. It's like a human jumping
the length of a football field. (30 minutes..lucky pig! Can you
imagine?)

The catfish has over 27,000 taste buds.
(What could be so tasty on the bottom of a pond?)

Some lions mate over 50 times a day.

(I still want to be a pig in my next life...quality over quantity)

Butterflies taste with their feet.
(Something I always wanted to know.)

The strongest muscle in the body is the tongue.
(Hmmmmmm......)

Right-handed people live, on average, nine years longer than
left-handed people.

(If you're ambidextrous, do you split the difference?)

Elephants are the only animals that cannot jump.
(okay, so that would be a good thing)

A cat's urine glows under a black light.
(I wonder who was paid to figure that out?)

An ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain.

(I know some people like that.)

Starfish have no brains
(I know some people like that, too.)

Polar bears are left-handed.
(If they switch, they'll live a lot longer)

Humans and dolphins are the only species that have sex for pleasure.
(What about that pig??)

Bad Lad

Can't beat a bit of rough eh? You go for the bad lad type! Bad lad

You may be nice but aren't you a bit naughty as well! That's why you're attracted to the bad lad. The one who's a bit laddish. The heart-breaker. So what if he's hard to tie down? You want a man who has an edge, someone who keeps you on your toes. In fact, it may be the challenge that keeps you around. His rather yobbish attitude is like a magnet; if a man wears a rebel reputation, he sparked your attention! Your bloke must be confident and ooze masculine charm. Plainly, sensitive men simply don't cause your knees to buckle. You have no time for the sweet, romantic, or doting chaps who pursue you and, frankly, bore you to tears. Perhaps you're just not into the touchy-feely thing right now. Who cares? Whether you're seeking adventure or looking to tame the wild, there's something about a bad lad that keeps you coming back.

A day after the eurovision

Aah well it's the day after the eurovision. We ended up last, and I am not surprised.

One of the things I hate in the eurovision regarding the Maltese is that we vote for a song, and when I listen to it in the actual eurovision, it seems like it is a totally different songs. We voted for the maltese dancers as well, they where part of the song and so was the dance! Why should I see a different dance and different dancers and a really bad backing vocal? We voted for the song AND the performance that Faniello did in Malta and they just sent the song without the performance to Athens. Personally I didn't like the song and I didn't vote for it, but I must admit, the performance he did in Malta was far much better then the one in Athens. If maybe they sent all the show to Athens, we wouldn't have been classied last (and I'm not saying that we would have came number 1 either)...

Above all, I blame Faniello coming last on us the Maltese, we choose him to go and represent us, probably just like I read somewhere "the blame is on the 12-14 year old girls that have both a mobile and also a crush on Faniello". WTF!!

I was dissapointed a lot that the Belgium Song, "Je T'Adore" of Kate Ryans didn't pass the semifinals cause I really liked it. Russia's song had also a nice performance and the singer was really cool!

My boyfriend liked the song of Lithuania, "We Are The Champions", I didn't think much of it from the song only but it was funny when I saw them performing I thought, ooh well it's not that bad, they do have a chance.

And in closing as Darryn and me where discussing yesterday and we both agreed on it, was that the Eurovision Standard is really getting low. The show and the park in Athens were awesome, but the songs where mostly all, "How the F*** did they get chosen for the eurovision, where the judges drunk"?

Men's transformation to Women

Scientists for Health Mexico recently suggested that men should take a look at their beer consumption, considering the results of a recent analysis that revealed the presence of female hormones in beer.
The inference had been that drinking beer makes men turn into women. To test the finding, 100 men were fed 6 pints of beer each. It was then observed that 100% of the men:

* Gained weight
* Talked excessively without making sense
* Became overly emotional
* Couldn't drive
* Failed to think rationally
* Argued over nothing

All Scientists unanimously agreed that the Beer successfully converted men into women.

CAR COMMERCIAL--ALMOST UNBELIEVABLE !

And you thought those people that set up a room full of dominos to knock over were amazing...
There are no computer graphics or digital tricks in the film.

Everything you see really happened in real time exactly as you see it.

The film took 606 takes. On the first 605 takes, something, usually very minor, didn't work.

They would then have to set the whole thing up again.

The crew spent weeks shooting night and day.

By the time it was over, they were ready to change professions.

The film cost six million dollars and took threemonths to complete including full engineering of the sequence. In addition, it is two minutes long so every time
Honda airs the film on British television, they're shelling out enough dough to keep any one of us in clover for a lifetime.

However, it is fast becoming the most downloaded advertisement in Internet history. Honda executives figure the ad will soon pay for itself simply in "free viewings". (Honda isn't paying a dime to have you watch this commercial!).

When the ad was pitched to senior executives, they signed off on it immediately without any hesitation - including the costs.

There are six, and only six, hand-made Honda Accords in the world. To the horror of Honda engineers, the filmmakers disassembled two of them to make the film.
Everything you see in the film (aside from the walls, floor, ramp and complete Honda Accord) is parts from those two cars.

The voiceover is Garrison Keillor. When the ad was shown to Honda executives, they liked it and commented on how amazing computer graphics have gotten. They fell off their chairs when they found out it was for real. Oh, and about those funky windshield wipers On the new Accords, the windshield wipers have water sensors and are designed to start doing their thing automatically as soon as they become wet.

It looks a bit weird in the commercial.

A snog can 'cure hayfever'

A new study says a passionate 30-minute kiss can help relieve the misery of hayfever.

Researchers found kissing relaxes the sufferer and reduces production of histamine which triggers hayfever, reports the Mirror.

A team at Satou Hospital in Japan told 24 men and women with hayfever to spend 30 minutes kissing their partners while listening to soft music.

The experiment was repeated with cuddles but not kisses. Blood samples showed a significant drop in antibodies fighting the allergens after the kissing session but no response at all to cuddling.

The same happened in patients with atopic dermatitis, a skin condition also triggered by allergies.

Research leader Dr Hajime Kimata said: "These results indicate for the first time that kissing may alleviate allergic responses."

3. Phoning Gozitans to check availability of apartments and prices and sending emails

Until now not really a big luck, so if you have any good apartments you go or know of Gozo we are welcome for any suggestions :)

Parrot held in prison

A parrot has spent five days under police 'interrogation' in prison in Argentina.

A judge ordered Pepo to be held in custody until he told police who was his real owner, reports UOL.

vTwo neighbours, Jorge Machado and R Vega, were disputing ownership of the bird.

Judge Osvaldo Carlos decided the parrot should be sent to prison until he said the name of his owner.

After five days, Pepo said Jorge's name and also sung the anthem of his favourite football team San Lorenzo.

Mr Machado said: "I knew he wasn't going to let me down, he is a real friend and we support the same football team."

WHY MALTESE CAN'T BE TERRORIST HIJACKERS ...

1. We are always late, we would have missed all the flights.
2. The pretty girls on the plane would distract us.
3. We would talk loudly and bring attention to ourselves.
4. With food and drinks on the plane, we would forget why we're there.
5. We talk with our hands, therefore we would have to put our weapons down.
6. We would ALL want to fly the plane.
7. We would argue and start a fight in the plane.
8. We can't keep a secret, we would have told everyone a week before doing it.
9. We would have put our country's flag on the windshield.
you missed number 10...
10.We would all have fallen over each other to be in the photograph being taken by one of the hostages.

Freaking @#$%^&* Day

It is the end of a freaking day finally where basically EVERTYHING (and I say that literarly) went wrong. Work problems with the Italians, damn I'm beginning to hate them even more each day, and now my PC broke down, it does not want to switch on and I'm flat broke. I'm currently using an old laptop and although for the years it has it works really good it's just really really really slow and with the temper that I have today it's the last thing that I need.

Oh and to make things worst there are roadworks being done at a road I use to go from and to work, therefore as usual really loads of traffic which is not fun at all. Thank God that yesterday I did a dance/RnB/ pop CD, if you happened to drive by me, you've probably seen me dancing alone, ah well what do you wanna do, I'm not in a really good state of mind lately and to be sure that I don't forget that, my bf is remind me quite often about it :P.

Anyways as you might have noticed I'm in a talkative mood today and as Panadols and other painkillers are out of stock due to my collegaues buying loads of them today (wonder why?) it's better that I end this post RIGHT NOW!.

Heavenly discrimination

This is what I received from a gozo colleague of mine ..... (no comment)

Tajba ......... jekk ma tkunx Malti (u jekk Malti hudha ma saqajk!!!)

God was missing for six days. Eventually, Michael, the archangel, found him, resting on the seventh day.

He inquired of God. "Where have you been?"
God sighed a deep sigh of satisfaction, and proudly pointed downwardsthrough the clouds, "Look, Michael. Look what I've made.

"Archangel Michael looked puzzled, and said, "What is it?""It's a planet," replied God, "and I've put Life on it. I'm going tocall it Earth and it's going to be a great place of balance.

"Balance?" inquired Michael, still confused.God explained, pointing to different parts of earth. "For example,Europe will be a place of great opportunity and wealth, while Asia isgoing to be poorer.

Over there I've placed a continent of white people, and over there is acontinent of black people. Balance in all things," God continuedpointing to different countries. "This one will be extremely hot, whilethis one will be very cold and covered in ice."

The Archangel, impressed by God's work, then pointed to a tiny landarea and said, "What's that one?"

"Ah," said God "That's Gozo, the most glorious place on earth. There are beautiful hills, scenic valleys, sandy beaches, rich fields, rocky steppes, and clean environment.

The people from Gozo are going to be cunning, modest, intelligent, andhard workers and they are going to be found traveling the world. Theywill be extremely sociable, hardworking, high achieving and they will beknown throughout the world as reliable and a benefit to society."

Michael gasped in wonder and admiration, but then asked, "But what aboutbalance, God? You said there would be balance." God smiled, "I thoughtof that... Wait until you see the idiots I put as their neighbours!

Bangkok

In original native culture of Thailand, when males reach the age 18 they participate in a ceremony as follows:

They stand naked in a large circle, facing inward. A beautiful naked girl does a sexy dance in the center of the circle. Behind each male is a beautiful naked girl. As soon as all the males are excited and have erections, the girls behind them reach through between their legs, pull their erect penises downward and then release them. Their penises spring Back up and go "WHAP!" against their bellies. A measurement of strength of masculinity. And that's why the capital of Thailand is called Bangkok.

.... you learn something new everyday

Water vs Alcohol

Check this out ... it's really interesting

It has been scientifically proven that if we drink one litre of water each day, at the end of the year we would have absorbed more than one kilo of Escherichia Coli Bacteria found in water that contains faeces. In other words, we are consuming one kilo of sh!t. However, we do not run that risk when drinking rum, gin, whiskey, beer, wine or other liquors because alcohol has to go through a distillation process of boiling, filtering and fermentation.

It is my duty to communicate to all of you people who are drinking water, to stop doing so. It has been scientifically proven that it is unhealthy and bad for you. THEREFORE - It is better to drink alcohol and talk shit than to drink water and be full of it!!

23rd March 2006

Ah well lots of things happened lately, I saw several DVDs, 'Duplex' (really funny movie), the Count of Monte Cristo, The River King and the Machinist. I also received 2 new books from abroad, 'Holy Blood, Holy Grail' and 'Breaking the Da Vinci Code', however before I will begin those two books I am rereading the book 'The Da Vinci Code'. Although I've already read it, I decided to begin reading it again so I can understand those 2 books better.

Also, yesterday I apparently brought luck to a collegue of mine and he won the super 5 of 4 numbers, well when am I going to bring luck to myself and win the jackpot??? bah I'm reallyyy broke.

Avoiding speeding tickets

Here's a trick you can try if caught speeding

A young woman was pulled over in Austin,Texas for speeding. As the TX State Trooper walked to her car window, flipping open his ticket book, she said, "I bet you are going to sell me aticket to the Texas State Police Ball." He replied, "Texas State Troopersdon't have balls." There was a moment of silence while she smiled and herealized what he'd just said. He then closed his book, got back in hispatrol car and left. She was laughing too hard to start her car.

Deception Point

Well today I finished reading, "Deception Point" by Dan Brown. It's a really good thriller. In the first part of the story I got a bit bored, however as the story went along I felt like I couldn't stopped reading because I wanted to know more.

Here is the story outline:-

When a new NASA satellite detects evidence of an astonishingly rare object buried deep in the Arctic ice, the floundering space agency proclaims a much-needed victory ... a victory that has profound implications for U.S. space policy, the NASA itself as it was being under attack by a USA senator and the impending presidential election that was going to be held in the upcoming months.

With the Oval Office in the balance, the President dispatches White House Intelligence analyst Rachel Sexton to the Arctic to verify the authenticity of the find. Accompanied by a team of experts, including the charismatic academic Michael tolland, Rachel uncovers the unthinkable - evidence of scientific trickery - a bold deception that threatens to plunge the world into controversy.

But before Rachel can make her findings known, she realises, perhaps too late, that such knowledge puts her and Tolland in deadly jeopardy. Fleeing for their lives in an environment as desolate as it is lethal, they possess only one hope for survival: to find out who is behing this masterful ploy. The truth, they will learn, is the most shocking deception of all ...

I must say this film has everything because while it is a thriller, you have some funny moments, you encounter family problems and wars, you see a romance begin and also hostilities between colleagues together with a big deception from the most person you perhaps trust with your life.

While this is my least favourite book of Dan Brown so far, I wouldn't hesitate twice before reading it again.

Closer

So, it's the end of the weekend. It was quite a good weekend and relax :). Today I watched the film closer and I quite liked it although I cannot say it's one of the best ever made. I always liked Julia Roberts and Clive Owen, Jude Law was good in it and I discovered Natalie Portman.

Set in London, England, good Samaritan Dan Wolf (Jude Law), a struggling writer, takes Alice Ayres (Natalie Portman), a shady young woman and part-time stripper, to the hospital when she's hit by a car, and they fall in love. One year later, Dan meets photographer Anna Cameron (Julie Roberts) and tries to pick her up, but she rebuffs him. In revenge, Dan sets Anna up for an embarrassing encounter with sex-addicted dermatologist Larry Bagley (Clive Owen), but the two end up seeing each other. Then another year later, Dan and Anna begin an affair of their own, and relationships between the four collapse. Over the next year, all of them become obsessed with hurting each other and wreak some heavy emotional damage.

All in all, I would suggest this film because it got quite a story of love and deceiving.

The Magdalene Sisters

It's' a truly amazing and dramatic movie. Here is the plot line:-

Four women are given into the custody of the Madgalene sisterhood asylum to correct their more or less sinful behavior: Crispina and Rose have given birth to a premarital child, Margaret got raped by her cousin and the orphan Bernadette had been repeatedly caught flirting with the boys. All have to work in a laundry under the strict supervision of the nuns, who break their wills through sadistic punishments. Some of the inmates develop countermeasures, while others perish under the treatment.

Here is also some information I liked while browsing the web regarding this film:-

The film
It was initially made because the story of the Magdalene women was unfinished. They hadn't received any recognition, they hadn't received any compensation, and they hadn't been given an apology. And they remained devout Catholics. [Only one of the three principal characters of the film is said to have done so. Though nothing is said about the others in this respect, at least two of the four subjects of the documentary "Sex in a Cold Climate," which inspired the film, left the church, towards which they express undisguised hostility.] So initially, it was as a means to get their story in the public domain.

The film focuses on the girls’ perspective of what happened to them during the time they spent in a Magdalene laundry. The plot follows three young women Margaret, Rose and Bernadette from the first scenes of the film where they are shown committing the so called crimes for which they were put into the laundries through to their arrival at the laundry, their experiences there and the different ways in which they eventually leave the laundry. After arriving at the laundry, the story of another girl Crispina joins the stories of the other three. The film depicts the abuse inflicted on them by the nuns and the priest. Similarities between the film and reality, the work women were expected to do, society’s attitudes costumes, and language.

Differences between the film and reality
1. Names changed incorrectly.
2. The brutality and abuse of the nuns towards the girls in reality was a lot worse than what was depicted in the film.
3. The main characters in the film were not based on true people however their stories and experiences were based on victims accounts.
4. The film was made in Scotland and not actually in Ireland.
5. In reality the girls would not have talked to each other at all even at night whereas in the film, although seldom during the day, the girls did have conversations.

If you have seen this film you can post and messages regarding it

WRONG, THERE ARE 6 -- NO JOKE

Really, go Back and Try to find the 6 F's before you scroll down.

The reasoning behind is further down.

The brain cannot process "OF".

Incredible or what? Go back and look again!!

Anyone who counts all 6 "F's" on the first go is a genius. Three is normal, four is quite rare.
